Onsite – Thomaston, CT
$90,000 – $110,000 base + bonus
Direct Hire / Permanent Role

We are partnering with a global manufacturing organization to hire a Senior Accountant for their Thomaston, Connecticut facility. This role reports to the Plant Controller and plays a key part in supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and operational performance across multiple production units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own balance sheet reconciliations (cash, fixed assets, liabilities, and other accounts), ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of variances

  • Support working capital initiatives including AP optimization, inventory reporting, and process improvements

  • Maintain strong internal controls and support audit readiness and compliance requirements

  • Manage and enhance cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation and manufacturing cost reporting

  • Provide detailed analysis on plant performance, cost drivers, and profitability

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles, including variance analysis and recommendations

  • Partner closely with Finance and Operations teams to strengthen cost control and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Contribute to a collaborative, hands-on plant finance environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with strong month-end close and related processes, ideally in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a cost-focused mindset

  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, plant-based environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally

  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and take ownership
