Job details

Kelly Services is hiring Core and Coil Assemblers in Waukesha, WI. This is a hands-on, heavy mechanical assembly role supporting the build of internal transformer components in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Location: Waukesha, WI
Pay: $32.71/hour
Shifts: 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM OR 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM       Minimal overtime 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Building internal transformer components through hands-on mechanical assembly

  • Placing core steel laminations and large copper coils using overhead cranes

  • Operating hydraulic pressing equipment, hand tools, torque wrenches, wire cutters, and crimpers

  • Reading blueprints, bills of material, and specifications

  • Using forklifts or other powered industrial vehicles to move parts and assemblies

  • Maintaining clean and organized work areas through 5S practices

  • Following contamination control and cleanliness procedures

  • Working closely with production, quality, engineering, and planning teams

  • Training and supporting new operators as needed

  • Following all safety procedures and wearing required PPE

This job might be a great fit if you:

  • Have prior heavy mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, manufacturing, or power equipment experience

  • Are comfortable using overhead cranes, hand tools, hydraulic presses, and industrial equipment

  • Can read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications

  • Have strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

  • Are comfortable standing, walking, climbing, lifting, pushing, and working at heights

  • Can work safely in a large manufacturing environment

  • Have a high school diploma or GED

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys hands-on assembly, and is comfortable working with large components and precision equipment.
