Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) to join our clinical team. This role serves as a critical link between patient care and administrative execution, ensuring that treatment plans, orders, referrals, and follow-up care are completed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about ensuring continuity of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provider Collaboration & Care Plan Execution
- Review treatment plans with providers following patient visits.
- Track laboratory orders, imaging studies, specialist referrals, and follow-up care.
- Monitor incoming results and notify providers of abnormal findings or barriers to treatment.
Documentation & Chart Management
- Upload and manage incoming labs, faxes, and portal documentation within the EMR.
- Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
- Document infusion therapies, IV antibiotics, and treatment timelines.
- Ensure scanned documents, including PICC line orders, are categorized and stored appropriately.
Patient Follow-Up & Scheduling
- Coordinate with front office staff to schedule follow-up appointments before patients leave the office.
- Contact patients regarding test results, treatment updates, and follow-up requirements.
- Monitor upcoming treatment completion dates and ensure timely scheduling.
Care Coordination
- Serve as a liaison between providers, Home Health Care agencies, infusion pharmacies, and patients.
- Coordinate PICC line placement and infusion-related services.
- Provide necessary clinical documentation to support patient care plans.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, and weight measurements.
- Perform medication reconciliation and PHQ-9 screenings.
- Administer injections and maintain detailed documentation of medications, dosages, dates, and injection sites.
- Monitor medication inventory and ensure proper storage procedures.
Telehealth & Office Communication
- Manage clinical voicemails and office email communications.
- Support telehealth visits by coordinating patient access and documenting required information.
- Verify patient information and assist with remote visit preparation.
Qualifications
- Active Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical Medical Assistant experience required.
- Experience in a private practice or multi-specialty setting preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems and clinical documentation.
- Experience administering injections and managing clinical workflows.
Preferred Experience
- Infusion therapy and IV antibiotic management.
- PICC line coordination and documentation.
- Home Health Care coordination.
- Managing complex patient follow-up processes and referral tracking.
