Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Research Scientist, Resin Formulation for a Direct Hire position at a premier chemical company in Benicia, CA. Overview:
In this position, you will independently develop, formulate, and test advanced resin and adhesive materials, working primarily in the lab and providing technical expertise to support product development and innovation in composite applications.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, standard working hours
Responsibilities:
- Formulate, develop, and test thermoset resin systems, adhesives, and prepregs, with a primary focus on resin formulation for composite applications.
- Lead laboratory experiments to optimize material properties, troubleshoot formulation challenges, and drive innovation in resin and adhesive development.
- Analyze and evaluate material performance through thermal and mechanical testing, ensuring accurate data collection and thorough technical documentation.
- Identify and integrate new technologies and materials that strengthen the company’s competitive advantage in advanced composite products.
- Support product development and problem-solving by offering technical expertise, collaborating with team members, and contributing to technical discussions.
- Maintain compliance with industry safety standards, participate in professional development, and provide occasional technical support to customers and patent activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in thermoset resin formulation or composite material development within an industrial or professional research setting.
