Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Columbus (west side)
Pay: $20/hr
Shift: Monday-Friday:  8:00am-5:00pm


Position Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling, storage, and distribution of inventory. This includes order pulling, loading and unloading materials, inventory data entry, and maintaining a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unload materials, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks, inspecting all items to ensure they meet minimum quality standards.

  • Stock and transfer materials to designated locations (shelves, bins, racks, pipe bundles) according to established criteria (size, type, style, and length).

  • Properly label materials with identifying information.

  • Facilitate the movement of materials to and from the shop for modification needs.

  • Assemble and package orders based on customer requirements.

  • Prepare orders for delivery and transfers; load materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, or other heavy equipment as needed.

  • Prepare documentation for various shipment types (UPS, LTL, SH, or Air Shipments).

  • Comply with all safety policies, guidelines, and training.

  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness in accordance with OSHA and customer safety policies.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Take reasonable care for personal safety and the safety of others; report any workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses promptly.

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Willingness and ability to learn company, federal, and health and safety regulations.

  • Basic computer and typing proficiency.

  • Knowledge of (or ability to learn) warehouse operations and business processes.

  • Basic math and reading comprehension skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Proficient in reading and speaking English to effectively interpret safety instructions and communicate as needed.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with company guidelines, including Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest policies.
