Shipping/Receiving Worker
Devens, MA
Pay rate $30-32/hour depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS):
- Adhere to all EHS policies, practices, and procedures related to department-specific responsibilities.
- Demonstrate proficiency in applying EHS standards and contribute to audit readiness.
- Participate in EHS audits with internal company groups, regulatory agencies, and customers.
- Report all near misses, accidents, and dangerous occurrences through appropriate company procedures to initiate investigations.
- Cooperate with root cause investigations and ensure compliance with company policies and all state and federal regulations.
- Support the company’s commitment to environmental health and safety by applying ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, and Sustainability 2025 principles in daily activities.
- Adhere to all EHS policies, practices, and procedures related to department-specific responsibilities.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Capable of reaching with hands or arms, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, or crouching as necessary for job activities.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift/move more than 100 pounds using available material handling equipment.
- Specific vision abilities include near, distance, peripheral, color perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Regularly works with moving mechanical parts and may handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Work may be performed in humid areas with varying temperatures.
- Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate but can vary.
Travel:
Travel between the two Veranova locations will be necessary.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience:
Technical/Professional Knowledge:

Essential:
- High School Diploma with 2-4 years of experience in hazardous material handling and shipping (both domestic and international) within a pharmaceutical or chemical environment.
- Experience in a production environment in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.
- Working knowledge of electronic material control systems and related financial and purchasing software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and capacity to multitask.
- Highly self-motivated.
- Prior forklift certification.
- DOT/IATA training in packaging, labeling, and shipment of hazardous materials.
- Good understanding of GMPs and FDA regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- High School Diploma with 2-4 years of experience in hazardous material handling and shipping (both domestic and international) within a pharmaceutical or chemical environment.

- Specialized training in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain principles.
- RCRA training.
- Familiarity with D365 quality systems and Master Control.
