Quality Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $26.00/hour
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (Target conversion after 6 months)

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our Quality team. This position is primarily focused on Quality Assurance (QA) activities, with the opportunity to develop skills in Quality Control (QC) over time. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment and possess a strong understanding of quality systems, food safety programs, and documentation practices.

The Quality Technician will report directly to the Quality Manager, work alongside two other quality team members, and collaborate closely with Production and Warehouse Operations to support product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review quality documentation to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.


  • Support and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout the facility.


  • Assist with HACCP program implementation, monitoring, and documentation.


  • Participate in internal and external audit preparation, follow-up activities, and corrective action tracking.


  • Conduct routine quality inspections and verification activities.


  • Perform basic QC laboratory testing, including simple bench-work and UV-Vis analysis.


  • Investigate quality-related issues and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).


  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.


  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to food safety and product quality.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Quality, or a related field.


  • 1–3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role within a regulated manufacturing environment.


  • Working knowledge of:

    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)


    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)


    • Quality documentation and recordkeeping


    • Audit support and compliance activities


Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline.


  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry strongly preferred.


  • Familiarity with food safety audit schemes such as:

    • FSSC 22000


    • SQF



  • HACCP, PCQI, or other food safety certifications are a plus but not required.


  • Experience with laboratory testing equipment, including UV-Vis instrumentation.


  • Experience in medical device manufacturing may be considered; food industry experience is preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
