Location: Port Wentworth
Pay: $19/hr
Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
Join Our Team as a Warehouse Operations & Gate Clerk! Are you organized, detail-oriented, and driven to keep logistics running smoothly? We’re seeking a dedicated professional to join our warehouse and gate operations team. In this role, you’ll ensure accurate and timely handling of shipping documents and provide top-notch support for drivers, logistics personnel, and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary gate clerk, greeting and checking in drivers, verifying credentials, and guiding them through facility processes.
- Oversee access control to the yard, validating documentation, and distributing required entry and exit paperwork.
- Communicate daily via email with carriers regarding shipment schedules and equipment needs.
- Collaborate with warehouse and site staff to share operational information and ensure seamless workflow.
- Use warehouse management software to open/close shipments, prepare bills of lading, and track outbound freight.
- Support warehouse material handling tasks, including receiving, picking, packing, or loading as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping data and all related inventory transactions.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies, checking the accuracy of shipment documents and inventory counts.
- Monitor trailer capacity, coordinate equipment moves, and communicate work assignments.
- Help leadership with general administrative and clerical duties.
- Update logs, load boards, and file outbound paperwork for quick access.
- Perform other warehouse, logistics, and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, or similar fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of gate/yard operations and material handling equipment (preferred)
- Familiarity with Manhattan Warehouse Management System (preferred, but not required)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Skilled in data entry, record keeping, and basic inventory control
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle changing priorities
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus, not required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or walk for 10–12 hours per shift
- Able to lift and move totes up to 50–100 lbs
- Comfortable with frequent bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching
- Ability to move throughout large facilities and adapt to variable temperatures, noise, and lighting
