The National Institutes of Health is seeking a Bioinformatic Scientist (Neuroimaging). This is a long-term, full-time, contract position based in Bethesda, MD. This position offers a competitive benefits package.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the team to facilitate the scientific mission of the section, including data collection, analyses, and writing. Analyses include leveraging neuroimaging and machine learning tools.

  • Data collection can include: assisting with designing paperless forms of data acquisition.

  • Serve as a resource for knowledge of advanced statistical and neuroimaging methods for current and new members of the research group.

  • Lead journal clubs/scientific discussions for trainees and research staff. Assist in the design and the development of study protocols.

  • Advise on selection of tools (e.g. data collection management software) for use by the lab .

  • Collaborate with clinicians and other scientists within and outside of the group.

  • Spearhead project(s) which can include other team members.

  • Implement new data analysis techniques and methodologies.

  • Introduce novel ways of data analysis and processing to the lab members related to the mission of the section.

  • Attend national and international conferences for fostering collaboration and staying up to date on new methodologies and new findings.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. in Neuroscience or related discipline.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in neuroimaging research experience.
