Kelly Government Solutions is a strategic supplier and business partner to the federal government and its key suppliers.  Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health, Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with one of the most prestigious research organizations in the world.  We are currently seeking a Biological Scientist with the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS. The contractor shall:

  • Provide scientific, technical, and operational oversight of the cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) facility.

  • Support structural biology research through high-quality cryo-EM data acquisition and analysis.

  • Manage facility operations, including instrument performance, user access, and workflow optimization.

  • Support internal NIH research groups and external collaborators through consultation and service delivery.

  • Oversee day-to-day operation of cryo-EM instrumentation, including Titan Krios and other electron microscopes.

  • Train users in cryo-EM specimen preparation, microscope operation, and data collection.

  • Oversee multiple cryo-EM projects simultaneously from sample intake through data delivery.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

  • Master’s in Biology, life sciences or related field

  • 8-10 years experience in biology or related field performing biological research functions in a research setting and laboratory environment.

  • Experience performing high-throughput cryo-EM data collection and screening of samples.

  • Experience conducting specimen preparation, vitrification, and grid screening for cryo-EM studies.

  • Expertise developing and implement new cryo-EM methodologies and workflows.
