Split Shift, 9:30am-6pm (Monday-Friday)
Saturday as needed
Pay Rate: $23-25/hr
What’s a typical day as a Shipping and Receiving Worker? You’ll be:
- Performing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments and receipts
- Verifying received materials are correct, properly identified, and relate to authorized purchase orders
- Shipping materials to customers, packaging as required on customer orders or internal requirements
- Ensuring materials are shipped with proper packaging and accurate documentation, including weight verification
- Directing movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas
- Comparing identifying information, counting, weighing, or measuring items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Affixing shipping labels on packed cartons
- Unpacking and examining incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and corresponding with shipper to rectify issues
- Routing items to departments and maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Ensuring all documentation is properly completed and distributed in a timely manner
- Performing other duties and assignments as required
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Possess strong math skills to convert weights and perform calculations as required
- Are proficient in English with strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
- Have legible handwriting and the ability to complete paperwork thoroughly and neatly
- Can use a calculator and are comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Word)
- Are physically capable of lifting between 45 and 100 pounds, and can work in an environment with exposure to noise or dirt approximately 10% of the time
- Have prior shipping and receiving experience (preferred, but not required)
- Can operate material handling equipment such as pallet trucks and forklifts (training available if needed)
