We are hiring long-term Special Education Substitute Teachers to support El Camino Real Charter High School.

- Long-Term Special Education Teacher, $35/hour
Minimum requirements:
Credentialed Education Specialist Mild/Moderate (or equivalent); added or embedded authorizations for Autism and English Learners
- SDC Biology (10th grade)
- SDC Advanced Physical Science (11th grade)
- co-teaching/collaborative classes in math (Algebra 1)
We are currently looking for one Special Education Specialist Teacher who provides case management for and provides direct and indirect services to students with disabilities. The Education Specialist develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other staff members.
What You Will Do:
- Provide direct instruction to students in small setting to support their ability to access the curriculum and achieve IEP goals.
- Have thorough knowledge of subject matter in content area being taught.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including the incorporation of technology in the learning process.
- Co-teach general education classes to facilitate and support student access to the general education curriculum.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop learning strategies for diverse student needs and assist with curriculum adaptations and modifications according to student IEPs.
- Coordinate, develop, and implement IEPs for all students on caseload.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments.
- Use data-driven techniques to set goals for students.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records.
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, DIS providers, and administrators to support student needs.
- Monitor student progress for students on caseload and students in class.
- Maintain consistent communications with families regarding student progress.
- Create/maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Maintain appropriate standards of pupil behavior, using classroom management and behavior management strategies and techniques, with a focus on positive behavior interventions.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Participate in staff development activities to maintain and improve job-related skills.
- Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff.
- Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
- Perform other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by the Site Administrator/Principal
What You Bring:
- Appropriate California Credentials: Education Specialist – Mild Moderate Support Needs (MMSN)
- Embedded or added authorization: English Learner Authorization
- Embedded or added authorization: Autism Authorization (AAAS)
- Embedded or added authorization: Education Specialist Bridge Authorization Mild to Moderate
- Documented subject matter competency in Science – such as Science Authorization
- Support Needs (highly preferred)
- Understanding of general special education assessment concepts and methods
