Temp Building / General Construction Technician
Location: Hicksville, NY
Pay Rate: $30.00/hour
Schedule
• Friday: 12:00 PM – 9:30 PM
• Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Three-day workweek with potential for additional hours based on business needs.
Position Summary
The Temp Building / General Construction Technician performs general construction, repair, and facility maintenance work to support safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role is responsible for maintaining building infrastructure, completing facility improvement projects, and supporting GMP and CAPA-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, and minor building repairs.
• Conduct routine maintenance and corrective repairs throughout the facility.
• Install, repair, and maintain doors, walls, ceilings, fixtures, and other building components.
• Support facility renovations and improvement projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and construction drawings.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, and company safety standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
• Document completed work and communicate maintenance needs.
• Assist with other facility projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• Must be 18 years or older.
• 2–5 years of construction, facilities, or building maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Trade school certification or technical training is a plus.
