CNC Machinist
Kelly Services is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist in St. Louis, MO. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established precision machining company serving the aerospace industry, the U.S. government, and allied partners.
Pay: $20–$30 per hour, based on experience
Shift: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines according to blueprint specifications.
- Select and align fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials.
- Machine precision parts while meeting aerospace quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and dimensional specifications.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Make machine adjustments and modify program speeds and feeds as needed.
- Monitor machining operations and troubleshoot equipment or quality issues.
- Maintain production schedules while ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous CNC machining experience, including CNC lathe and/or mill operation.
- Experience with Mazak, Fanuc, and Haas controls or equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to accurately use calipers and micrometers.
- Strong understanding of precision measurements, including the difference between thousandths (.001) and ten-thousandths (.0001).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is a plus.
- Experience machining various metal and plastic materials.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a machining apprenticeship or technical training program is preferred.
- Journeyman-level machining experience is a plus.
