About the Role

This position is ideal for an experienced millwright who enjoys machining, fabrication, and solving complex mechanical problems. You’ll manufacture custom replacement parts for specialized extrusion equipment, rebuild machinery, and support equipment reliability throughout the plant.

Unlike many maintenance positions, you’ll have the opportunity to establish and organize your own machine shop, giving you the flexibility to create an efficient workspace and take ownership of your daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and mechanical schematics.

  • Fabricate precision machine components using manual milling machines and manual lathes.

  • Install, align, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild industrial manufacturing equipment.

  • Machine, weld, braze, grind, broach, and fabricate custom replacement parts.

  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, shafts, bearings, and gearboxes.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment rebuilds.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teammates and outside vendors on equipment repairs and installation projects.

  • Assist with machine moves, installations, and equipment upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of millwright experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Must be proficient operating both a manual mill and a manual lathe.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Experience fabricating precision parts from blueprints and engineering drawings.

  • Experience with welding and metal fabrication.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, precision alignment, bearings, shafts, and other industrial mechanical systems.

  • Ability to verify part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.

  • Experience with CMMS software and basic computer skills preferred.

Ideal Backgrounds

We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Heavy Industrial Manufacturing

  • Plastics & Extrusion

  • Packaging

  • Steel & Metals

  • Automotive Manufacturing

  • Food Manufacturing

  • Industrial Equipment Repair

  • Machine Shops or Custom Fabrication

If you’re an experienced millwright who enjoys machining, fabrication, and mechanical problem-solving—and you’re looking for a position where you’ll have the freedom to build and organize your own shop while supporting specialized manufacturing equipment—we’d love to speak with you. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable company offering up to $34.00/hour, outstanding benefits, and long-term career growth.
