Lab Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and advanced laboratory analyses to generate vital process data.
- Collect samples according to established protocols and prepare calibration standards.
- Operate, calibrate, and perform preventative maintenance on key lab instrumentation, including LCs (Liquid Chromatography) and GCs (Gas Chromatography).
- Evaluate, interpret, and report analytical data using both basic statistical techniques and rigorous quality standards.
- Monitor the performance of analytical systems, identify problems, and perform first-line troubleshooting; escalate complex issues as needed.
- Document, communicate, and archive all analytical results and calibration data for traceability.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and ODMS (Operating Discipline Management System) procedures and practices.
- Actively suggest process and tooling improvements to enhance lab efficiency and effectiveness.
- Serve as an informal technical resource and mentor for less experienced team members.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Completion of vocational or upper secondary education (high school diploma or equivalent) WITH laboratory, manufacturing, or related experience.
- Additional coursework in chemistry or a related scientific discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience (wet chemistry, instrumental analysis, or relevant analytical workflows).
Candidates without prior lab experience will not be considered.
- Familiarity with analytical instrumentation and data systems; R&D analytical background is a plus.
- Proven track record of maintaining high standards of analytical rigor and quality.
- Ability to quickly integrate into lab operations and add value immediately.
