What’s a typical day as Biomedical Equipment Technician? You’ll be:
- Providing technical support for biomedical equipment, including installation, troubleshooting, non-routine/routine maintenance, vendor logistics, and SOP authorship for equipment acquisition, installation, calibration, maintenance, and disposal
- Ensuring documentation and record keeping meet regulatory standards (21 CFR Part 58), Good Laboratory Practice Standards, and departmental procedures
- Reviewing and quality checking documents for accuracy and compliance
- Participating in health surveillance programs (blood-borne pathogen training, respirator fit testing) and quarterly audit sweeps
- Authoring qualification protocols/reports for QAU auditing and execution
- Collaborating with Quality Engineers on validation protocols and updates
- Advocating for the department as a Radiology Safety Committee member
- Complying with EHS vendor requirements and serving as Area Owner for contracted work
- Communicating personnel issues through the Operations Manager
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Hold an Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent military experience/training (Required)
- Have 3 years of experience as an equipment technician (Required)
- Possess a Certified Biomedical Technician certification (Preferred)
- Have GLP research/laboratory experience (Preferred)
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance skills
- Can read and apply instructions from technical manuals
- Have excellent organizational, mathematical, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Are proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Are able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
