Quality Control Technician I (Part-Time Weekend Days)
Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday | 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Employment Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $23.00–$30.00/hour, based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician I to support laboratory operations by performing analytical testing on raw materials and production samples in a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys hands-on testing, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring products meet established quality standards.
The successful candidate will work independently while collaborating with the Quality team to support daily laboratory activities and maintain compliance with safety and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine quality control testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using established laboratory methods.

  • Accurately document test results and communicate any out-of-specification or nonconforming results to the appropriate personnel.

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), testing methods, and quality system requirements.

  • Assist with the evaluation and disposition of raw materials based on testing results.

  • Maintain product retain samples, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and organization.

  • Perform routine equipment checks, calibration verification, and report any equipment concerns.

  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety procedures.

  • Monitor laboratory inventory and assist with maintaining adequate supplies.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other laboratory projects as assigned.

  • Assist with additional laboratory responsibilities as business needs require.

Qualifications
Required

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of one year of laboratory experience, preferably in Quality Control, analytical testing, or a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to accurately record and interpret laboratory data.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or another scientific discipline.

  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, food, nutraceutical, chemical, consumer products, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, quality systems, and ISO or GMP environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday.

  • Frequently bend, reach, and lift materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including lab coat, gloves, and safety glasses.

  • Comfortable working in a laboratory environment while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
