Hagie Manufacturing (owned by John Deere) is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Fabrication Team in Clarion, IA. This position will machine parts on CNC machine tools designed to turn, drill, bore, and/or mill production material and operate lasers and brake presses in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 5 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday-Thursday. Overtime possible)
Job Duties:
- Turn, drill, bore, and/or mill parts to specification using CNC machining tools and processes.
- Operate one or more CNC machines to complete an operation.
- Operate a laser to cut piece parts from sheet steel.
- Operate various brake presses to bend parts to print.
- Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
- Utilize manufacturing tools to record data and keep records for quality and maintenance.
- Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections.
- Use various types of CNC machine tools, material handling equipment, jigs, fixtures, measuring gages and instruments, and other applicable hand and power tools.
- Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
- Assist and support other team members.
- Complete daily and weekly housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
This Job Might Be an Outstanding Fit If You:
- Are at least 18 years of age.
- Have one of the following: High School Diploma or G.E.D., National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
- Can successfully complete a Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test before placement.
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 35 lbs), and performing of repetitive actions.
- Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
Preferred Qualifications:
- CNC certification (or equivalent) or at least 1 year CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- One year manufacturing experience with lasers or brake presses
Fabrication Applicant Testing
- Run CNC machines to make parts.
- Operate laser cutting machines.
- Operate press brakes to bend parts.
- Read work instructions and prints.
- Measure and inspect parts for quality.
- Use tools and equipment safely.
- Make basic machine adjustments when needed.
- Clean and maintain machines and work areas.
- Complete required paperwork and records.
- Work safely and help team members as needed.
