Hagie Manufacturing (owned by John Deere) is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of their Weld Team in Clarion, IA. This position primarily consists of MIG welding using .035, .045, and .052 wire on various thicknesses of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum to meet weld standards.

Pay: $26.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 5 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday-Thursday. Overtime possible)

Minimum Requirements (Must have):

  • 1 year of production welding experience or completion of a recognized welding program.

  • MIG welding.

  • Steel: 0.35, 0.45, 0.52 wire.

  • Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.

  • Ability to perform a hands-on weld qualification test.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.

  • Assess comfort with simple technology (screens and computers).
     

Preferred:

  • Experience with aluminum welding (0.47 wire).

  • Experience welding multiple material types and thicknesses.

  • Experience with fixtures.
     

Job Duties:
Perform weld operations in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following: 

  • Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using various welding processes. 

  • Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality. 

  • Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures. 

  • Utilize manufacturing tools to record data and keep records for quality and maintenance. 

  • Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections. 

  • Use various types of tools and equipment to perform work – including but not limited to CNC / robotic welding equipment, safety equipment, manual arc welders, grinders, hoists, fixtures, and applicable hand and power tools. 

  • Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling. 

  • Assist and support other team members. 

  • Complete daily and weekly housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks. 

  • Other duties as assigned.
     

This Job Might Be an Outstanding Fit If You:

  • Are at least 18 years of age.

  • Must have a weld certification (or equivalent) or at least 6 months experience welding in a manufacturing environment. 

  • Have one of the following: High School Diploma or G.E.D., National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.

  • Can successfully complete a Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test before placement.

  • Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including possible weekends) 

  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 35 lbs), and performing of repetitive actions.
