Job Title: Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Palatka, FL 32177 
Work Schedule: Mon – Fri, from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM (3rd Shift)
Pay Rate: USD 60.00 /hr – USD 72.00 /hr
Contract: TTH

Position Summary:
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager provides leadership to the EHS programs at the plant within the World Class Manufacturing framework. This hands-on leadership position ensures legislative compliance, develops and maintains Saint-Gobain safety standards, promotes a strong EH&S culture, delivers EH&S training, and implements risk identification and reduction methods through employee participation and engagement.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Reports directly to the EHS Manager, with dotted line reporting to the U.S. Regional Health and Safety Manager

  • Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and mentoring to EH&S teams

  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct hazards

  • Perform data entry and analysis into corporate EH&S databases

  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or diseases, including root cause analysis

  • Inspect and evaluate workplace for compliance with regulations and company standards

  • Promote and train behavioral EHS initiatives

  • Audit against Saint-Gobain Safety Standards and ensure compliance

  • Maintain all EH&S regulatory documentation and permits

  • Facilitate EH&S training programs for all employees and contractors

  • Lead and facilitate joint EH&S committee meetings

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement actions to mitigate risks

  • Develop and implement Safety Risk reduction plans

  • Communicate safety warnings and evaluate potential risks

  • Support project teams during equipment delivery and commissioning

  • Identify and implement corrective actions for safety opportunities

  • Manage 4.ORMS Safety+ software and equipment

  • Support 5S systems, enforce plant rules and safety regulations

  • Provide direction and support on WCB claims and return to work programs

  • Maintain Industrial Hygiene standards

  • Assist with capital projects and regulatory affairs as needed

  • Provide training for new employees as per OSHA and company standards

  • Create and validate EH&S objectives for the Plant

  • Train contractors on safety and risk assessment

  • EPA Title V Method 9 certification as facility

  • Drive SMAT program in the Plant

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent (3–4 years’ EH&S experience required)

  • Experience with compliance training and administration in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience leading teams preferred

  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Hands-on industrial leadership style

  • Self-starter and team player

  • Ability to influence others without direct authority

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Flexible and open-minded

Preferred:

  • Work history that includes Environmental, Health and Safety in industry

Fiscal Responsibility:

  • Responsible for staying on target for the EH&S budget

Working Conditions:

  • Manufacturing plant environment with limited HVAC, concrete floors, exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature changes

  • Long hours, weekend/holiday work as needed

  • May require air and rental car travel

Physical Demands:

  • Significant time on plant floor, walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, rough terrain, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Periods of sitting, standing, computer and phone use

  • Must wear personal protective equipment as required
