• Experience with a variety of laboratory equipment in a chemical laboratory setting.
• Demonstrated commitment to laboratory safety; responsible for adhering to all safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment under tight timelines and competing priorities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in chemistry, materials science, physics, engineering, or a related field or equivalent knowledge acquired through on-the-job training.
Responsibilities:
Job Description: Analytical Technologist
The candidate will assume a variety of responsibilities in support of the X-ray, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and Microscopy competencies within Leveraged Analytical Sciences group. This in-person position is located at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, DE. The candidate will work under the direction of experienced scientists to provide analytical support for research and development (R&D), Technical Service and Development (TS&D), and Manufacturing as needed.
Key job responsibilities include:
• Prepare samples, reagents, and standards for analysis, following established procedures.
• Perform X-ray diffraction (XRD) data, X-ray tomography (XRT), and electron microscopy acquisition and assess basic data quality.
• Conduct ultramicrotomy to prepare sample cross-sections for analyses.
• Perform routine instrument operation and maintenance.
• Dispose of laboratory waste according to established protocols.
• Perform routine nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) refills, following established procedures.
Work hours/days: 40 hours/week
