Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00–$24.00/hour
Assignment: 1-Year Contract with Possible Extension
Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Lab Technician to join a leading research organization supporting environmental fate studies. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with laboratory experience who are looking to grow their technical skills in a collaborative research environment while working with advanced analytical instrumentation and high-throughput laboratory technologies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and support environmental fate research, including preparing environmental samples (such as soil), extracting small-molecule crop protection compounds, performing sample cleanup, and analyzing samples using liquid chromatography.
- Operate and maintain laboratory automation equipment, including automated liquid handlers and solids dispensers, to support high-throughput assays.
- Perform environmental fate experiments utilizing carbon-14 radioactive isotope materials and instrumentation used to measure radioactive residues.
- Assist in the development of new environmental fate assays under the guidance of experienced scientists.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to ensure timely completion of research activities.
- Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and waste disposal in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Follow all laboratory safety protocols, including radiation safety procedures, to ensure compliance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline is preferred.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and standard bench-top equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to following all laboratory safety procedures.
- Comfortable working with carbon-14 radioactive materials while following established safety protocols.
