Kelly® is seeking an Assembler to join the team at John Deere in Paton, IA. Take this opportunity to grow your career while supporting a world-class manufacturer in your community.
Pay: $25.75 per hour
Shift: 1st, starting around 6am; details TBD (Overtime possible)
Assemblers perform assembly, disassembly, and/or assembly repair operations in a team environment. In this role, you’ll contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on Safety, Quality, and Teamwork.
Types of Machines, Tools, and Equipment Used or Operated:
Varies by specific duties. May include: hand or power tools, conveyors, testing and runoff equipment, gages, grinders, riveters, arbor presses, hoists, hand and power trucks, dynamometers, tachometers, runoff machines, prints, fixtures, jigs, templates, clamps, and various other hand tools.
Job Duties:
- Assemble, bundle, and/or package parts to specification on a line or bench assembly operation.
- Disassemble and/or repair assemblies.
- Work from assembly prints and specifications.
- Perform own setups; work from part prints and/or job specifications.
- Check results for conformance to print and/or specifications, make any necessary corrections.
- Record data and/or keep records for quality, maintenance, preventive maintenance, SPC, etc.
- Lubricate, check, and/or clean equipment and tooling.
- Perform some preventive maintenance and equipment adjustments.
- Instruct and assist other team members as needed.
- Move and position loads.
- Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 35 lbs. repeatedly.
- Stand for long periods.
- Bend, stoop, walk, kneel, and perform other repetitive physical actions.
Required Safety Equipment:
Metatarsal boots, gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, and face shield.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Good attendance history.
- Experience with mechanical or assembly processes.
- Ability to use basic math and measuring equipment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently.
- Capability to work with close tolerances.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and written processes.
