Job Title: Assembly Technician
Location: Youngstown, OH
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Position Summary
The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring the quality of electromechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow detailed process instructions to meet our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, and standardized instructions
- Accurately assemble products following detailed work instructions and process guidelines
- Use hand and power tools, including measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, gauge pins) and test equipment (HiPot tester, Multimeter)
- Conduct calculations and test finished products per instructions
- Perform quality control inspections for geometrical, dimensional, and visual conformance
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and shipping finished goods
- Receive and document incoming materials; manage non-conforming materials as necessary
- Support the maintenance of ISO documentation and participate in training and audits
- Assist with inventory management and warehouse tasks
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year experience in assembly, quality control, or inventory management
- Ability to read and understand assembly instructions, bills of materials, and standardized processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
- Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in electromechanical assembly
- Previous warehouse experience, including packaging and material handling
- Experience operating forklifts or Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) is a plus
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
- Frequent walking; occasional sitting, bending, stooping, climbing, and balancing
- Occasional exposure to electrical hazards and potentially dangerous equipment (up to 20% of the time)
- Must be able to use hands for handling tools and communicating with co-workers
- Occasional need to crouch or position oneself to access materials or workspaces
