We’re seeking a Chemical Operator to work at BASF, a leading name in the chemical manufacturing industry, in Savannah, GA. Sound good? Take a closer look below. Pay Rate: $27.00/hour

Shift: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am, generally called a “Dupont schedule” in this line of work

What’s a typical day as Chemical Operator? You’ll be:

  • Operating major plant equipment and processes, including pumps, valves, filters, screens, compressors, and dryers, while following standard procedures.

  • Providing support to team members in chemical processes, loading and unloading tank trucks and rail cars, and other operational tasks.

  • Maintaining equipment, diagnosing issues to prevent shutdowns, and performing troubleshooting as needed.

  • Driving and operating forklifts safely.

  • Conducting analytical testing to ensure product quality and quantity.

  • Keeping records, interpreting instructions, and managing workplace documentation.

  • Upholding safety standards, reporting violations or concerns, and demonstrating excellent housekeeping skills.

  • Participating in system improvement processes and collaborating with team members.

  • Working rotating 24/7 shifts and contributing to a culture of reliability and teamwork.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in a production manufacturing environment; 3 years as a chemical operator preferred.

  • Possess basic computer skills and SAP knowledge.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Have excellent work habits, including attendance, safety, and housekeeping.

  • Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting.

  • Can work 24/7 rotating shifts and overtime as required.

  • Can lift and carry up to 55 lbs., work from heights or in confined spaces, and wear face masks/shields as needed.

  • Work well in a collaborative team environment and show a willingness to learn and grow.
