Assembly Operator
Pay Rate: $19.04/hr
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 7:30 PM to 6:00 AM CST
Some overtime required on Fridays and Saturdays (every other weekend)

Position Overview

As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of high-speed, large-scale automated assembly equipment. You will perform complex repairs, adjustments, and changeovers, as well as routine and preventive maintenance, to ensure smooth, continuous production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate assigned assembly machines safely, maintaining productivity and quality targets.

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform repairs, major adjustments, set-ups, and changeovers—ensuring machines run at optimal performance.

  • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks according to the Quality Inspection Plan (QIP), documenting required measurements at specified intervals.

  • Preventive Maintenance: Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to support operational reliability.

  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machine faults, clear jams, and restart production as needed.

  • Tooling Adjustments: Make precision tooling adjustments such as sharpening/conditioning, measuring spring-loaded pins, and maintaining features and stations.

  • Component Replacement: Replace sensors, punches, dies, stock components, air cylinders, belts, and other machine parts as necessary.

  • Visual/Mechanical Inspection: Use tools such as height indicators, ram optics, gauges, and microscopes to ensure proper function and quality.

  • Packaging: Remove, inspect, and package finished products according to guidelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant on-the-job or vocational experience in assembly or similar manufacturing roles.

  • Working knowledge of automated machinery and assembly line operations.

  • Ability to use a variety of mechanical tools and inspection instruments.

  • Solid understanding of company safety policies and procedures.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to recognize when deviation from established procedures is required.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and consistent quality focus.

Competencies

  • Adaptability to varied and semi-routine tasks.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to work overtime as needed, including some Fridays and Saturdays (every other weekend).
