Ophthalmic Medical Assistant – $18.00-$20.00/hr – Canandaigua, NY
At Kelly® Professional & Industrial, we’re seeking a motivated Ophthalmic Medical Assistant to join a busy ophthalmology practice in Canandaigua, NY. This is a fast-paced, hands-on clinical role where you’ll be on your feet throughout the day, assisting physicians, performing diagnostic testing, and helping provide exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate enjoys staying busy, multitasking, and working as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Previous ophthalmology experience is preferred; however, candidates with medical assisting, direct patient care, or other strong healthcare experience are encouraged to apply.
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday | Office hours are approximately 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM (until 6:00 PM on Thursdays)
Pay:
- $18.00-$20.00/hour ( Based on experience)
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare patients for eye examinations
- Obtain medical histories and document patient information
- Perform vision assessments and diagnostic testing
- Assist physicians during examinations and sterile procedures
- Conduct eye measurements and refractive testing
- Coordinate patient care throughout each visit
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Travel between office locations as needed
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while working as part of a collaborative clinical team
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous ophthalmology, medical assisting, healthcare, or direct patient care experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Computer proficiency (EHR/EMR experience preferred; Medent experience is a plus)
- Ability to remain on your feet throughout the workday while managing multiple clinical responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask, stay organized, and adapt to changing patient needs
- Phlebotomy experience or certification is a plus
- Flexibility to travel between office locations as needed (Macedon, Geneva, Canandaigua)
