Position Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and safety-focused PP Forklift Trainer to train and evaluate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) operators and support operational, quality, and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate will have the experience, skills, and leadership ability to effectively train employees on the safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Train, certify, and evaluate employees on the safe operation of all Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs).
- Implement and support OSHA regulations and warehouse safety standards.
- Conduct practical PIT training, testing, and operator evaluations.
- Instruct employees on equipment familiarization and safe operating procedures.
- Promote and maintain a strong culture of workplace safety.
- Complete and maintain all PIT training records, certifications, and documentation.
- Perform regular safety, quality, and environmental inspections.
- Participate in investigations involving PIT-related incidents.
- Continuously improve training materials through feedback and best practices.
- Provide operational training and support as needed.
- Assist the Quality and Operations teams with various initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English or Spanish (written and verbal).
- Current certified forklift operator with experience on:
- Sit-Down Forklift
- Stand-Up Forklift
- Order Picker
- Reach Truck
- Turret Truck
- Walkie
- Aerial Lifts
- Sit-Down Forklift
- Proven history of safe and responsible equipment operation.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable leading training sessions and evaluating employee performance.
- Computer proficiency and experience maintaining records and documentation.
- Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 55 pounds.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse and dock environment.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
- Ability to work in moderate to loud noise levels.
