Production Operator I – Padding Department
Join Our Team!
We are seeking a dependable Production Operator I to support our Padding Department manufacturing operations. This hands-on position is responsible for operating and monitoring padding production equipment, packaging finished products, performing quality checks, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor padding production equipment according to established work instructions.
- Assist with machine setup, product changeovers, and startup activities.
- Package, bag, box, label, and palletize finished products to customer specifications.
- Inspect products throughout the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
- Accurately complete production records, quality documentation, and downtime logs.
- Operate scrap grinding equipment and support recycling and waste reduction efforts.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and food safety requirements.
- Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and quality observations to supervisors and team members.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.
Starting Pay
- Padding Department: $20.00 per hour
Shift Differential
- +$1.00 per hour for hours worked between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
- No shift differential for hours worked between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Shift Schedule
- A Shift: 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
Employees must be clocked in and ready for the daily shift meeting 15 minutes prior to their scheduled shift start time.
Break Policy
All employees receive:
- Two paid 15-minute breaks
- One paid 30-minute lunch break
Qualifications
- Successful completion of required Production Operator assessments or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with varying noise levels.
- Strong attention to detail, dependability, and commitment to safety and quality.
