Production Operator I – Padding Department

We are seeking a dependable Production Operator I to support our Padding Department manufacturing operations. This hands-on position is responsible for operating and monitoring padding production equipment, packaging finished products, performing quality checks, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor padding production equipment according to established work instructions.
  

• Assist with machine setup, product changeovers, and startup activities.
  

• Package, bag, box, label, and palletize finished products to customer specifications.
  

• Inspect products throughout the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
  

• Accurately complete production records, quality documentation, and downtime logs.
  

• Operate scrap grinding equipment and support recycling and waste reduction efforts.
  

• Maintain clean, organized work areas following 5S and housekeeping standards.
  

• Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and food safety requirements.
  

• Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and quality observations to supervisors and team members.
  

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.

Starting Pay

• Padding Department: $20.00 per hour

Shift Differential

• +$1.00 per hour for hours worked between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
  

• No shift differential for hours worked between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Shift Schedule

• A Shift: 12:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.

Employees must be clocked in and ready for the daily shift meeting 15 minutes prior to their scheduled shift start time.

Break Policy

All employees receive:

• Two paid 15-minute breaks
  

• One paid 30-minute lunch break

Qualifications

• Successful completion of required Production Operator assessments or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  

• Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  

• Basic math and measurement skills.
  

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with varying noise levels.
  

• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and commitment to safety and quality.
