Production Operator, Level III – Grinding
Pay Rate: $25.30/hr ($22/hr base + 15% graveyard shift differential)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 1:00 AM–9:30 AM
Position Summary:
Seeking a skilled Production Operator (Level III) for our grinding department. The Operator is responsible for machine setup and operation to manufacture high-quality parts that meet precise customer specifications. This role involves operating profile grinding machines, performing setups, troubleshooting, and supporting team performance on the graveyard shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and set up profile grinding machines for the production of customer parts according to detailed sketches and specifications.
- Make machine adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and ensure that all tolerances are consistently met.
- Inspect parts regularly, verifying compliance with required standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment or production issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
- Provide training and assistance to other operators, fostering skill development and teamwork.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including both machine setup and routine operation.
- Willingness and ability to learn advanced setup techniques and meet production run rates, including operating multiple machines concurrently.
- Skilled in handling small wire sizes (.005” ± .0002”) and maintaining tight tolerances.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot machines and restore operations efficiently.
- Basic reading, writing, and effective communication skills.
- Strong reliability, attendance, and work ethic.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally with team members and management.
Level III Expectations:
- Works independently, requiring minimal supervision.
- Handles more complex parts and tight tolerances within production.
- Actively contributes to team performance, productivity, and continuous improvement.
