Assembly Operator – Level 1
Pay: $17.00/hr
Work Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM–4:30 PM (subject to production needs)
- Saturday–Sunday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Assembly Operator to join our dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands-on assembly experience and will collaborate closely with Team Leads and the Production Manager to efficiently complete production tasks according to quality standards and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and/or test connectors and various interfacing assemblies based on engineering drawings and established procedures.
- Terminate electrical and optical contacts, connectors, and switches using various cables, fibers, tools, equipment, and epoxies.
- Perform proficient soldering in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Conduct overmolding processes using standard materials and practices.
- Handle and utilize chemicals (e.g., oil, MEK, flux, epoxy) safely, following all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) guidelines.
- Use specialized test equipment to validate both electrical and optical performance.
- Participate in preventative maintenance and maintain equipment per recommended schedules.
- Accurately document all work performed and maintain required production records.
- Adhere to established work schedules and report results regularly to the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain workspace organization in line with recognized Lean Manufacturing principles (such as 5S and Kaizen).
- Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering (mechanical) drawings.
- Proficient soldering skills.
- Experience with electrical and optical assembly and testing preferred.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, as needed by production.
