General Utility Associate – Join Kelly Today!

Location: Gary, Indiana
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–1:00am
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour

Are you detail-oriented, safety-focused, and ready to support essential operations at a thriving facility? Kelly is seeking a General Utility Associate—a versatile Material Handler supporting production lines, inventory, and shipments, ensuring that every shift runs smoothly and safely.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with plant staff to provide a safe, clutter-free environment.

  • Start, operate, and monitor mixers/production lines.

  • Handle and stack materials, staging work-in-process (WIP) or finished goods in designated areas.

  • Keep accurate counts of inventory throughout the shift and monitor downtime and causes.

  • Stage, label, and load outgoing shipments to ensure the correct products are delivered on time.

  • Unload/load trucks and move materials to proper warehouse locations.

  • Help maintain quality control—conducting visual or tool-based inspections as needed.

  • Build pallets and ensure packaging materials match product requirements.

  • Maintain exceptional housekeeping using the 6S process, supporting a safe and efficient flow of operations.

  • Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot issues, keeping production running efficiently.

  • Contribute to warehouse supervision and perform other essential duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Minimum of general lab/manufacturing/material handling experience

  • Functional Success Drivers: Safety & Security, Customer Focus, Listening, Teamwork, Self-Awareness

  • Ability to start/operate machinery and efficiently organize materials

Additional Details

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Candidate must have steel-toed boots. All other PPE provided onsite.
