General Laborer – Production Worker
Schedule: Friday – Sunday, 5:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20.55 per hour
Location: Niles, IL

For over 30 years, our client’s facility has specialized in Toppings, Creams, and Culinary Solutions. This compact, high-performing operation runs 24/7 with five rotating shifts and a non-union workforce, focusing on innovation and cross-functional excellence.
Purpose Statement
The General Laborer supports safe, efficient, and high-quality food production by performing hands-on assembly line and material handling tasks. This role is essential in maintaining line flow, product integrity, and compliance with safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Hands-on work on production and assembly lines: packing, recas-ing, repackaging, and rework
- Maintain line speed while meeting quality and appearance standards
- Prepare, stage, and replenish materials during production
- Verify production codes, dates, and labels to ensure product compliance
- Operate and adjust coder machines for accurate labeling
- Manually build, stack, and palletize finished goods (up to 72-inch height)
- Pack cases, move cases, and perform rework activities as assigned
- Reseal, label, and return unused materials to warehouse according to procedure
- Power down, clean, and prepare equipment for the next shift
- Support proper start-up and shutdown of production equipment
- Assist with product changeovers, including removing and staging packaging materials
- Maintain supplies of packaging materials for efficient production
- Keep work area clean, organized, and safe
- Follow all Safety, GMP, Quality, Plant Policies, and food safety requirements
- Communicate production or quality concerns to team leaders or supervisor
Required Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and GMP guidelines
- Solid work experience with a strong track record of reliability
- Previous experience in a similar manufacturing, production, or industrial environment and position is required
- Must have an updated resume
