Kelly is currently hiring for or a Production/Forklift Operator III 12-month contract role, based out in Channahon, IL 60410. 

Schedule: Week 1: 3 days – 2 days off – 2 nights – 3 days off & Week 2: 3 nights – 2 days off – 2 days – 3 days off 

Pay range: $22-25/hr Depending on Experience 
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Operate forklifts to load and unload Styrofoam insulation board and other materials from flatbeds or intermodal van trailers. 

  • Unload packaged raw materials, verify quantities against shipping documents, complete related paperwork, and transport materials to designated storage areas. 

  • Inspect and ensure the quality of Styrofoam materials and packaged goods; report any damage or defects to the supervisor. 

  • Perform and document daily forklift inspections; promptly report any mechanical issues. 

  • Accurately check loads for completeness and accuracy before releasing them to drivers. 

  • Apply smoke tarps and secure loads on flatbed trucks, as required. 

  • Assist with inventory counts and resolve discrepancies as needed. 

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in warehouses and yard areas by performing daily housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and debris pickup. 

  • Participate actively in daily morning meetings and communicate effectively with coworkers. 

  • Follow company safety guidelines and procedures at all times. 
     

Qualifications 

  • Prior experience operating a forklift is required; valid forklift certification preferred. 

  • Basic math and reading proficiency. 

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving role is a plus. 

Key Competencies: 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 

  • Ability to read and interpret load sheets and shipping documents. 

  • Understanding of the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) inventory management method. 

  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. 

  • Excellent attendance and reliability. 

  • Ability to identify and communicate quality issues to supervisor promptly.
