Position: Assembly Operator – Mechanical Production Technician
Location: West Branch, IA
Shifts: 1st and 2nd shift available, full-time
Join our client’s production team as a Mechanical Production Technician! In this hands-on role, you’ll assemble and build the structural and mechanical components of wind turbines, follow engineering drawings, and ensure high safety and quality standards on the production floor. You’ll collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot and improve processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and fit large mechanical components using hand and power tools
- Follow detailed work instructions and technical drawings
- Align, torque, and install gearboxes, bearings, and shafts
- Operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and support team goals
- Collaborate with quality and engineering team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years in mechanical assembly or heavy manufacturing
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation
- Experience with overhead cranes and torque equipment
- Mechanical certifications or training a plus
- Willingness to work at heights and pass safety tests
- Strong commitment to teamwork and safety
