Job Title: Human Resources Specialist – HR Administrator / HR Clerk
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Rate: $22/hour

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist / HR Administrator / HR Clerk to provide administrative support to our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for maintaining employee records, processing HR-related transactions, and assisting employees and managers with routine HR, payroll, and benefits questions. You will maintain HR systems and help support day-to-day HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR, payroll, and benefits questions

  • Respond to inquiries by phone, email, and HR service systems

  • Direct employees to appropriate HR resources

  • Assist employees with HR self-service tools and systems

  • Upload/maintain employee information (terminations, disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, pay changes, leave of absences, benefit enrollments)

  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records

  • Process HR forms and documentation in a timely manner

  • Assist with benefits administration and employee enrollment

  • Maintain employee files and support audits

  • Prepare routine reports and data requests

  • Track/document employee inquiries and resolutions

  • Support HR team with administrative tasks and projects

  • Follow HR policies and procedures

  • Participate in training and process improvement efforts

  • Escalate complex issues as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of administrative, office, customer service, or HR support experience preferred

  • Experience with HR systems (Workday or similar HRIS) preferred

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally

  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are a plus

Physical/Work Requirements:

  • Ability to work in an office environment and use standard office equipment

  • Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods
