Foam Operator – Night Shift
Location: Charlotte, NC
Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 4:00 PM-2:00 AM
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Pay rate: 22.50
Position Summary
The Foam Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the automated foam system used in the door manufacturing process. This role supports production, quality, and safety goals by performing machine operation, process monitoring, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate the automated foam system and related production equipment.
• Monitor foam specifications, temperature settings, density checks, and machine performance.
• Complete daily production, scrap, and quality documentation.
• Perform chemical calibrations and routine equipment maintenance.
• Inspect products to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
• Read and follow work instructions, schedules, and blueprints.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and material handling equipment as needed.
• Communicate production, quality, and equipment issues to leadership.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S, OSHA, and company safety standards.
• Support production goals and work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
• Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compare measurements to specifications and identify quality issues.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Ability to adapt to changing production needs.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
