What’s a typical day as Quality Control / Quality Inspector? You’ll be:
- Inspecting machined, fabricated, and assembled parts per drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Interpreting complex GD&T symbols, dimensions, and tolerances
- Performing first article, in-process, and final inspections
- Measuring parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, surface plates, and CMM
- Inspecting stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, and plastic parts
- Accurately recording results in inspection reports and quality systems
- Identifying, documenting, and communicating non-conforming material
- Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Reviewing incoming purchased and fabricated parts
- Assisting with supplier quality inspections and audits
- Collaborating with Engineering to clarify drawing requirements
- Adhering to ISO-based quality procedures and standards
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent (technical/trade education a plus)
- Bring 2+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment
- Can read and interpret mechanical and assembly drawings
- Have working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Are experienced in inspecting machined/fabricated metal and plastic parts
- Are proficient with precision measurement tools
- Possess basic computer skills (inspection software, ERP, Excel)
- Have strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in packaging equipment or industrial machinery
- Familiarity with European drawing standards
- CMM operation or inspection software experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
- Background in machining, fabrication, or manufacturing
