Contract Type: Temporary Agency Worker
Duration: August 31, 2026 – December 4, 2026

About the Team

Join DoorDash’s Customer Experience (CX) organization, where we ensure that every customer receives an outstanding delivery experience—even when the unexpected happens. Our Defect Reduction team is dedicated to proactively preventing issues on the platform, safeguarding the P&L, and maintaining customer trust. This team operates at the intersection of operations, finance, and analytics, and directly impacts one of the most closely watched business metrics.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Defect and Cost Management, you will serve as the single point of accountability for the Credits & Refunds P&L. You will run weekly forecast versus actuals reviews, partner closely with Finance to analyze numbers, unravel drivers behind variances, and build actionable plans to return the business to health as needed. You’ll also maintain and update financial forecasts as trends shift, providing leadership with real-time visibility. This highly analytical and hands-on role sits at the center of Finance, Operations, Product, and Analytics, giving you direct exposure to executive leadership and plenty of opportunities to make a tangible impact.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end management of the Credits & Refunds P&L, acting as the single point of accountability

  • Lead weekly forecast vs. actuals reviews and partner with Finance to reconcile and explain performance

  • Analyze root causes of performance variances, size financial impacts, and formulate cross-functional recovery plans

  • Continuously update and maintain financial forecasts as business needs and inputs evolve

  • Present performance and action plans regularly to senior leadership, strengthening your financial storytelling and executive presence

  • Partner with Operations, Product, and Analytics to build relationships and make cross-functional projects successful

  • Proactively identify and solve potential financial and operational issues

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in strategy, finance, FP&A, management consulting, or a related field

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing P&L—including forecasting and variance analysis

  • Highly analytical, with deep experience using Excel and AI tools for investigating variances

  • Proven ability to translate operational drivers into financial outcomes and communicate across teams

  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving results

  • Ownership mentality—proactively manages ambiguity and drives business outcomes independently

  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and skilled at pivoting when faced with new information

  • Effective influencer and motivator across a variety of job levels and functions

  • Excellent communication and time management skills

Position Details:

  • Fully remote (Laptop provided)

  • Standard business hours

  • Coverage for leave of absence

  • Temporary contract via agency (vendor-neutral sourcing)
