Position Overview

We are looking for a Semiconductor Manufacturing Automation Engineer to develop software, data, and workflow solutions that improve manufacturing execution across Thin Films, Implant, and Epitaxy operations.

This position combines semiconductor process knowledge with full-stack software development. The engineer will create tools that automate critical manufacturing activities, improve production decision-making, reduce cycle time, and support consistent execution across multiple manufacturing sites.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem solver who enjoys working directly with manufacturing teams, translating operational challenges into scalable technology solutions, and using modern development practices—including AI-assisted programming tools—to deliver practical results.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain software applications that support semiconductor manufacturing operations.
  

• Automate workflows related to:
  

  • Process qualifications
    

  • Lot and equipment dispositions
    

  • Process releases
    

  • Manufacturing approvals
    

  • Critical process-control activities
    

  
  

• Develop applications that improve production flow, reduce manual effort, and minimize manufacturing cycle time.
  

• Create data pipelines and system integrations that enable better process monitoring and operational decisions.
  

• Investigate recurring process and equipment issues and develop automated methods to identify, prevent, or resolve them.
  

• Partner with process engineers, equipment engineers, manufacturing personnel, project managers, and internal customers to understand business needs and define technical requirements.
  

• Convert user requirements into reliable, intuitive, and maintainable software solutions.
  

• Use modern development technologies and AI-assisted coding platforms to accelerate application development while maintaining appropriate quality, security, testing, and documentation standards.
  

• Support integration between manufacturing applications, databases, equipment systems, and site-level data platforms.
  

• Design solutions that can be adapted for use across multiple manufacturing locations.
  

• Develop technical documentation, user instructions, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  

• Provide ongoing support and enhancements for deployed applications.
  

• Identify opportunities to eliminate repetitive tasks and improve the efficiency of engineering and manufacturing workflows.
  

• Establish sound software-development and lifecycle-management practices within the engineering organization.
  

• Mentor colleagues on application development, code management, documentation, testing, and deployment methods.
  

• Manage multiple projects while meeting agreed timelines and customer expectations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
  

• At least five years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  

• Experience developing software solutions for manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or other operational environments.
  

• Demonstrated ability to build and support applications without relying exclusively on no-code or co-development platforms.
  

• Experience using AI-assisted software-development tools or agentic coding frameworks, such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable technologies.
  

• Strong programming, debugging, and systems-integration skills.
  

• Ability to understand complex technical processes and translate them into effective automated workflows.
  

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both software professionals and manufacturing subject-matter experts.
  

• Demonstrated ownership, initiative, and commitment to delivering results.
