We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead site quality operations within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing facility operating 24/7 across multiple shifts.

Location: Rancho Dominguez, CA (onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience
Employment Type: Direct Hire

This operation produces millions of personalized products each month while supporting numerous customer-specific requirements related to product configuration, quality, security, packaging, and service. The Quality Manager will be responsible for strengthening manufacturing quality performance, driving an effective Quality Management System, preventing customer escapes, reducing defects and rework, and promoting a proactive quality culture throughout the facility.

  • Ensure consistent Quality coverage and standards across all production shifts.

  • Establish clear ownership and accountability for site quality performance.

    • Internal defects

    • First Pass Yield / Right First Time

    • Scrap and rework

  • Ensure products meet defined customer and process specifications.

  • Identify recurring defects, process variation, and emerging quality risks using data-driven analysis.

  • Use tools such as SPC, Pareto analysis, capability analysis, and quality trending to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to troubleshoot production-related quality concerns and implement sustainable solutions.

Customer Complaints & Corrective Action

  • Lead investigation and resolution of customer complaints, nonconformances, and significant quality incidents.

  • Coordinate containment activities and cross-functional root-cause investigations.

  • Drive corrective and preventive actions through completion and verify their effectiveness.

  • Focus on eliminating recurring causes rather than relying on temporary corrections.

  • Participate in customer-facing quality discussions related to performance, complaints, corrective actions, and improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure timely and accurate communication regarding quality issues and corrective actions.

Quality Management System & Compliance

  • Own site-level implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Support certification and accreditation requirements including ISO 9001, PCI, CQM, and other applicable standards.

  • Maintain strong audit readiness across the facility.

  • Use structured risk-assessment methods, including FMEA, to identify potential quality and process risks.

  • Ensure customer-specific requirements are translated into work instructions, inspection criteria, quality plans, and production controls.

New Products, Customers & Process Changes

  • Lead Quality involvement in new customer launches, new products, equipment installations, and major process changes.

  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, IT, Program Management, and other departments during implementation.

  • Participate in:

    • FMEA

    • Control plans

    • Risk assessments

    • Process validation

    • Testing and qualification

    • Production-readiness reviews

  • Ensure new processes launch with appropriate quality controls and clearly defined acceptance criteria.

  • Identify risks before implementation to minimize disruption to existing production and customers.

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor to understand processes and identify quality risks firsthand.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on:

    • Defect prevention

    • Variation reduction

    • Process capability

    • Scrap and rework reduction

    • Customer satisfaction

  • Promote structured problem-solving and data-based decision making across the facility.

  • Track quality initiatives and communicate results, risks, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years of Quality Engineering and/or Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated experience leading Quality in a high-volume manufacturing operation.

  • Experience supporting both automated/high-speed manufacturing equipment and manual production processes.

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 or comparable quality standards.

  • Experience supporting or leading internal, customer, and certification audits.

  • Hands-on experience with quality tools and methodologies including:

    • FMEA

    • SPC

    • Process capability

    • CAPA

    • Root-cause analysis

    • Corrective and preventive action

    • Structured problem-solving

  • Proven ability to drive sustainable corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment-related quality risks.

  • Experience supporting new products, new equipment, new customer launches, or major process changes.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience coaching and developing Quality teams.

  • Ability to influence operators, supervisors, engineers, maintenance teams, and senior leadership using facts and data.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, databases, and ERP systems.

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience required.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to translate the Quality Management System into meaningful manufacturing and customer results, including:

  • Progress toward zero customer complaints and zero critical quality escapes

  • Improved First Pass Yield / Right First Time

  • Reduced defects, scrap, and rework

  • Faster and more effective containment of quality issues

  • Elimination of recurring root causes

  • Strong audit performance and compliance

  • Successful launch of new products, customers, equipment, and processes

  • Consistent quality performance across a complex, high-volume production environment

  • Strong Quality ownership across all operating shifts

Compensation

$100,000–$120,000 annually, based on experience.

This is a direct-hire opportunity for an experienced Quality leader who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with manufacturing operations, and driving measurable improvements in quality performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
