Location: Jackson, WI
Hours: Monday – Friday, 5:00am to 1:30pm
Pay Rate: $24.64 per hour
Our client is looking for a Material Handler who is Forklift Certified (stand and sit down) to be responsible for moving parts and materials throughout the warehouse and delivering them to inventory locations or departments, either manually or utilizing equipment such as forklifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist receiving and steel cut/weld departments with movement/staging of material as needed.
- Look over daily orders and supply production area with required materials from inventory.
- Load materials to and from loading docks, delivery trucks, storage areas, racking systems, and manufacturing areas.
- Identify and label materials with sales order and dimensions/part number and record their locations in the warehouse and on shelves to accurately maintain inventory locations and counts.
- Assist with organizing and re-organizing inventory to ensure that space is maximized to its fullest potential and the most critical items are stored properly and in correct locations.
- Performs a maintenance check daily on the equipment prior to its use and documents.
- Operates forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight.
- Assists in performing and reporting cycle counts.
- Compliance with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines and assists with overall warehouse cleanliness including garbage/cardboard clean up.
- Participate in quality assurance checks of parts and materials.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with employees.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Previous forklift certification recommended and experience with pallet jacks and forklift required for material handling.
- Previous experience with SAP or other inventory management system recommended.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and/or other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two digits numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and 100 pounds occasionally.
- Squatting, kneeling and standing frequently.
- This position is exposed to dust/dirt frequently and fumes, vapors and mists occasionally.
- This position is in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is moderate.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
