Position: Inspection Associate – Custom Glass Production
Location: SE Grand Rapids
PR: $18/hour

Job Summary

The Inspection Associate inspects custom-fabricated and painted glass components used in office furniture. This role ensures finished products meet company quality standards and customer specifications before packaging and shipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect finished glass products for scratches, chips, color variations, shape deviations, and other defects.

  
  

• Review drawings, work instructions, and customer specifications.
  

• Use tape measures, digital gauges, templates, and other tools to verify product dimensions.
  

• Accept or reject products based on established quality standards.
  

• Record inspection results and promptly report defects or specification issues.
  

• Perform quality checks during different stages of production.
  

• Work with production employees and supervisors to identify causes of quality problems and support corrective actions.
  

• Identify and resolve basic quality issues when possible.
  

• Help improve inspection processes and support internal quality audits.
  

• Organize packaging materials and assist with safely packing and moving finished products.
  

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment when handling glass.
  

• Report equipment issues, safety concerns, and maintenance needs.
  

• Keep the inspection and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  

• Support general production activities and promote a positive team environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.

  
  

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  

• Experience using measurement or inspection tools is preferred.
  

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
  

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality.
  

• Ability to safely handle glass and follow workplace safety procedures.
  

• Previous manufacturing, quality inspection, or glass production experience is a plus.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
  

• Ability to lift, move, and safely handle glass and packaging materials.
  

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
