Job Description:
Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to join our Weld Team as a Weld Assistant. This role primarily focuses on processing completed weldments to ensure surface standards are met before they are painted. There is potential for advancement into a welding position, given the right aptitude and willingness to learn.
Job Title: Welding Assistant

Location: Clarion, IA
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Shift: 1st Shift, 5 AM to 3:30 PM (Monday-Thursday; overtime possible)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform weld cleaning operations in a production environment, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Remove weld silica and spatter from completed weldments using various tools and equipment, including grinders, wire brushes, hoists, fixtures, and applicable hand and power tools.
- Read and comprehend work instructions while following established procedures.
- Utilize a computer for digital schedule access and other manufacturing applications.
- Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections.
- Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
- Assist and support other team members as needed.
- Complete daily and weekly housekeeping and preventive maintenance tasks.
This Job Might Be an Outstanding Fit If You:
- Are at least 18 years of age.
- Have one of the following: a High School Diploma or G.E.D., a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience (must have).
- Are able to perform manual tasks throughout the work shift, including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 35 lbs), and repetitive actions.
- Are able and willing to work overtime and weekends.
- Have at least one year of experience in manufacturing or using mechanical tools (preferred).
- Can successfully complete a Physical Capacity Profile (PCP) test before placement.
