Production Associate – Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Employment Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: 3rd Shift, Sunday–Thursday
Hours: 9:30 PM–6:00 AM
Overtime: As needed
Training Schedule
Candidates must be available to train on their first day during 1st shift at 6:15 AM. The selected candidate will move to 3rd shift beginning on the second day.
Job Summary
The Production Associate works at presses and assists machine operators with the production process. Responsibilities include removing parts from presses, separating parts from scrap, assembling parts, stacking or packaging products, and operating equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all plant safety guidelines, practices, and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Work effectively in a team environment and ensure helpers understand their roles, required precautions, and the locations of emergency stop buttons.
- Understand and interpret company work orders and job control procedures.
- Work efficiently and accurately to achieve and maintain 100% of the production goal.
- Request and obtain necessary materials.
- Assemble totes and prepare skids, bags, and boxes for packaging.
- Package specified quantities of parts on skids, in bags, boxes, or other designated containers.
- Label finished products accurately.
- Stack bags of parts on racks or place them in the appropriate packaging.
- Move totes and skids of parts to storage areas or the next operation.
- Ensure safety devices are in place and report unsafe behavior or conditions.
- Remain aware of activities in the surrounding work area.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Leader.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedures, and blueprints.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and management.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Ability to use a tape measure.
Education and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three to six months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Essential Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Stand and walk for 8–12 hours at a time.
- Work in an environment with moderate noise exposure.
- Frequently bend, twist, and turn.
- Maintain full use of both hands to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls.
- Possess close- and distance-vision abilities.
- Regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
