Pay: $25–$30 per hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Travel: International travel required (must have passport)

Kelly Services is seeking an experienced Manufacturing/Mechanical Field Service Technician for our client in Bolingbrook, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have experience providing on-site service at customer facilities and be mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working with equipment, tools, and testing systems.

Position Summary
The Manufacturing/Mechanical Field Service Technician is responsible for setting up and administering tests that support the sales team in the sizing and selection of equipment. This position also provides equipment operation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer support at company and customer facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform materials testing using laboratory and industrial equipment.

  • Gather, record, and document test results using laboratory technology.

  • Perform basic mathematical calculations and analyze test results.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment, including:

  • Vac-Screen

  • Weigh scale balances

  • Ro-Tap equipment

  • Malvern particle analyzer

  • Work with sales and engineering teams to set up and perform testing.

  • Troubleshoot technical problems and perform basic equipment maintenance in the laboratory and at customer facilities.

  • Conduct customer service calls for equipment and system setup, startup, maintenance, and support.

  • Perform mechanical assembly of equipment.

  • Complete simple plumbing and electrical wiring in support of testing.

  • Follow all safety rules, OSHA requirements, and company safety policies.

  • Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly laboratory and work environment.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with your hands.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve problems.

  • Ability to apply concepts involving fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Understanding of OSHA requirements and related safety policies and best practices.

  • Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office applications.

  • Experience working with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or technical coursework are a plus.

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility, production, assembly, or mechanical service environment preferred.

  • Forklift experience and current certification required.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

  • Valid passport with no travel restrictions required due to international travel.

  • Ability to support basic plumbing and electrical work related to equipment testing.
