Quality Control Inspector / Quality Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m 1st shift
Occasional possibility of coming in up to 4 hours early or staying up to 4 hours over.
Pay Rate: $24.55 per hour
Position Summary
Kelly Services is hiring a Temporary Quality Control Inspector who will perform routine and specialized testing on in-process materials, finished products, ingredients, and manufacturing supplies to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with established specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality testing and assist with special projects as needed.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Prepare standard testing solutions.
- Collect, label, and store samples according to retention requirements.
- Enter, review, and analyze quality data accurately.
- Compare test results with established specifications.
- Escalate quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Partner with production teams to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Keep the laboratory clean, safe, and organized.
- Follow all applicable safety, quality, and operating procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
- At least three years of experience in quality control, laboratory, food manufacturing, or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong data-entry skills and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills and the ability to interpret measurements, data, and graphs.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagrammed instructions.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with production and quality teams.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and communicate throughout the workday.
- Ability to occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to reach, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks as required.
- Ability to work in laboratory, manufacturing, refrigerated, and warm environments.
- Ability to work in areas with varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Visual acuity for close and distance vision, color differentiation, and depth perception.
- Ability to distinguish color, flavor, and odor when performing quality-related tasks.
