Pay Rate: $19.80 per hour
Schedule: 2nd shift, 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. – Monday-Friday
Location: Mechanicsburg PA

Position Overview
Kelly Services is hiring a Temporary Shipper/Receiver I is responsible for the accurate and timely movement of materials throughout a distribution center. Duties include receiving, putaway, order picking, packing, shipping, material handling, documentation, and recordkeeping.
The position requires the operation of equipment such as forklifts, order pickers, turret trucks, electric and manual pallet jacks, stretch-wrapping machines, and barcode scanners. Employees may lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights of up to 30 feet.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 

  • Load and unload trucks while communicating with common carriers.

  • Review bills of lading, packing lists, and receiving documentation.

  • Verify incoming products against shipment paperwork for accuracy.

  • Sort and prepare materials for storage.

  • Receive products into the warehouse management system using barcode scanners or computers.

  • Put materials away in the appropriate areas or zones.

  • Operate order pickers, turret trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and scanners.

  • Break down and unload floor-loaded containers.

Picking

  • Pick products for customer orders, manufacturing orders, and sample requests.

  • Use barcode scanners, pick tickets, shipping documents, and material-handling equipment.

  • Perform bin-location audits, unit-load transfers, and carton transfers.

  • Weigh or hand-count materials to ensure order accuracy.

  • Complete additional picking and putaway duties as assigned.

Packing

  • Review system packing instructions and ship-set requirements.

  • Pack products according to established procedures.

  • Perform special packaging as required.

  • Print and apply customer-specific labels.

  • Follow applicable packaging specifications.

  • Identify hazardous or flammable materials and prepare them for shipment according to company procedures.

Shipping

  • Prepare cartons and pallet loads for shipment.

  • Attach required shipping and carrier documentation.

  • Secure unit loads using stretch wrap or banding.

  • Generate shipment manifests and bills of lading.

  • Verify carton counts against the shipment staged for pickup.

  • Coordinate with common carriers to arrange shipment pickups.

  • Load and unload cartons from pallets, carts, and conveyors using forklifts and pallet jacks.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Recycle wooden pallets and dispose of damaged pallets properly.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.

  • Complete general warehouse duties, including trash removal and cart distribution.

  • Follow all safety, security, emergency, and warehouse procedures.

  • Identify damaged products that require quality inspection or repacking.

  • Report shipment or product discrepancies to the shift supervisor.

  • Participate in team and individual improvement activities.

  • Perform other warehouse duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • At least one year of relevant warehouse, shipping, receiving, or distribution-center experience preferred.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to read and complete shipping and receiving documentation.

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, scanners, and related equipment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work at heights of up to 30 feet.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

  • Ability to work the assigned second-shift schedule.
