Job Title: Lens Maker I (Production Worker)
Location: Lancaster, NY
1st shift 8am to 4:30pm
Pay rate: $17.50/hr
Overview:
The production worker role will contribute to specialty contact lens manufacturing on a made-to-order platform. This entry-level role offers comprehensive training and the chance to work with cutting-edge precision equipment in a collaborative production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate computerized contact lens manufacturing and lathing equipment, manual polishing machines, and optical blocking equipment
- Perform lens deblocking, product inspection, packaging, and shipping
- Maintain accurate lens identification and traceability throughout all process steps
- Record and report production data and observations
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and government regulations
- Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow safety practices
- Coordinate daily tasks with supervisors and team members
- Use enterprise production systems to manage orders and workflow
- Handle incoming materials, replenish supplies, and assist with equipment maintenance
- Participate in periodic business-related projects and support continuous production improvement
- Occasionally work overtime as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent or GED
- Basic computer skills and strong verbal/written communication skills
- Strong math skills are a plus
- Good hand-eye coordination for handling small parts
- Medical device manufacturing experience a plus, but not required
